贊曰。據黃公別無他能。止是念佛不輟口耳。世人不肯依樣行持。而尋奇覓巧。遂成虔度。噫非所謂翻嫌易簡却求難耶。

The appraisal says: According to this, Old Huang had no other ability; he merely practiced buddhamanasikāra without ceasing from his mouth. Worldly people are unwilling to practice according to this model, but instead seek the wondrous and search for the clever, thereby failing in their devotion. Alas, is this not what is meant by 'disliking what is easy and simple, but instead seeking what is difficult'?
