抑此料紙者。去文永三年之曆暮秋九月之候。後嵯峨天皇所降賜也。不慮之朝恩。面目頓餘身之間。漸漸取出之。以寫如此之要書耳。

Furthermore, this paper was granted and bestowed by Retired Emperor Go-Saga in the late autumn, the ninth month, of the third year of Bun'ei [1266]. An unexpected imperial favor; as this body was suddenly graced with honor, I gradually brought it out to copy such essential texts as this.
