Furthermore, this paper was bestowed by Emperor Go-Saga in the late autumn, the ninth month of the calendar year of Bun'ei 3. Since this unexpected imperial favor brought extraordinary honor to my person, I gradually brought it out to copy such essential texts, so as to aid the future bodhi of the late Retired Emperor and pray for the Dharma Emperor's attainment of liberation. May the unseen host surely bestow their compassion, and may what is prayed for be completely accomplished!
