長阿含經云。人壽二萬歲時此佛出世。種婆羅門。姓迦葉。父梵德。母財主。居波羅柰城。坐尼拘律樹下。說法一會。度人二萬。神足二。一提舍。二婆羅婆。侍者善友。子集軍。

The Dīrghāgama-sūtra states: When human lifespan was twenty thousand years, this Buddha appeared in the world. He was of Brahmin caste, his clan name was Kāśyapa. His father was Brahmadatta, his mother was Dhanavatī. He resided in the city of Vārāṇasī. Sitting beneath a nyagrodha tree, he preached the Dharma in one assembly, delivering twenty thousand people. He had two foremost disciples endowed with supernormal powers: the first was Tiṣya, the second was Bhāradvāja. His attendant was Śamita, and his son was Vijitasena.
