迦葉佛（賢劫第三尊）偈曰。一切眾生性清淨。從本無生無可滅。即此身心是幻生。幻化之中無罪福。長阿含經云。人壽二萬歲時此佛出世。種婆羅門。姓迦葉。父梵德。母財主。居波羅奈城。坐尼拘類樹下說法。一會度人二萬。神足二。一提舍。二婆羅婆。侍者善友。子進軍。

Kāśyapa Buddha (the third Honoured One of the Fortunate Kalpa), his verse states:
“The nature of all sentient beings is pure;
From the beginning, it is unborn and indestructible.
This very body and mind are born of illusion;
Within illusion and transformation, there is neither demerit nor merit.”
The Dīrghāgama Sūtra states: When the human lifespan was 20,000 years, this Buddha appeared in the world. His caste was brāhmaṇa, and his surname was Kāśyapa. His father was Brahmadatta, and his mother was Dhanavatī. He resided in the city of Vārāṇasī. He sat beneath a nyagrodha tree to preach the Dharma. In one assembly, he liberated 20,000 people. He had two foremost disciples endowed with miraculous powers: the first was Tiṣya, and the second was Bhāradvāja. His attendant was Sarvamitra, and his son was Senājit.
