15.26

幽谿和尚僧問。大用現前不存軌則時如何。師起繞禪床一匝而坐。僧欲進語。師與一蹋。僧歸位而立。師曰。汝恁麼我不恁麼。汝不恁麼我却恁麼。僧再擬進語。師又與一蹋曰。三十年後吾道大行。

Upādhyāya Youxi. A monk asked, "What is it like when the great function appears before one, observing no rules?" The Master stood up, circled the meditation couch once, and sat down. The monk intended to say more, and the Master gave him a kick. The monk returned to his place and stood there. The Master said, "You are like that, but I am not like that. You are not like that, but I am like that." The monk intended again to say more, and the Master gave him another kick, saying, "Thirty years from now, my Way will greatly flourish."
