16.45

鳳翔天蓋山幽禪師。僧問。如何是天蓋水。師曰。四海滂池不犯涓滴。問學人擬看經時如何。師曰。既是大商何求小利。

Chan Master You of Mount Tiangai in Fengxiang. A monk asked, "What is the water of Tiangai?" The Master said, "It fills the four seas, not violating a single drop." He asked, "What is it like when a student intends to read the scriptures?" The Master said, "Since you are a great merchant, why seek small profits?"
