洪州大寧感潭資國和尚。白兆問。家內停喪請師慰問。師曰。苦痛蒼天。兆曰。死却爺死却孃。師打而趁之。師凡遇僧來。亦多以拄杖打趁。

Upādhyāya Ziguo of Gantan in Daning, Hongzhou. Baizhao asked, "There is a funeral at home; I ask the Master to offer condolences." The master said, "Grievous blue sky!" Zhao said, "Father has died; mother has died." The master struck him and drove him out. Whenever the master encountered monks coming, he also mostly drove them out with blows of his staff.
