20.15

朗州德山和尚（第七世住）問路逢達道人不將語默對。未審將什麼對。師曰。只恁麼。僧良久。師曰。汝更問。僧再問。師乃喝出。

The upādhyāya of Deshan in Langzhou (the seventh generation to reside there) was asked: "When meeting a person who has attained the Way on the road, one should not confront them with speech or silence. May I ask what one should confront them with?" The Master said: "Just like this." The monk paused for a long time. The Master said: "Ask again." When the monk asked again, the Master shouted him out.
