京兆臥龍和尚初開堂。有僧問。杲日符天際。珠光照舊都。浦津通法海。今日意如何。師曰。寶劍暉時豈該明暗。

When Upādhyāya Wolong of Jingzhao first opened his hall, a monk asked, "The bright sun accords with the bounds of heaven; the pearl's radiance illuminates the ancient capital. The ford communicates with the ocean of Dharma; what is the meaning today?" The Master said, "When the precious sword shines, how could it encompass light and dark?"
