21.30

杭州靈隱山廣嚴院咸澤禪師。初參保福展和尚。保福問曰。汝名什麼。師曰。咸澤。保福曰。忽遇枯涸者如何。師云。誰是枯涸者。保福曰。我是。師曰。和尚莫謾人好。保福曰。却是汝謾我。師後承長慶印記。住廣嚴道場。僧問。如何是覿面相呈事。師下禪床曰。尊體起居萬福。問不與萬法為侶者是什麼人。師曰。城中青史樓雲外高峯塔。問如何是佛法大意。師曰。幽㵎泉清高峯月白。問如何是廣嚴家風。師曰。一塢白雲三間茆屋。僧曰。畢竟作麼生。師曰。既無維那兼無典座。問如何是廣嚴家風。師曰。師子石前靈水響。鷄籠山上白猿啼。

Chan Master Xianze of Guangyan Cloister on Mount Lingyin in Hangzhou at first visited Upādhyāya Zhan of Baofu. Baofu asked, "What is your name?" The Master said, "Xianze (All-Drenched)." Baofu said, "What if you suddenly encounter drought?" The Master said, "Who is in drought?" Baofu said, "I am." The Master said, "Upādhyāya, it is better not to deceive people." Baofu said, "Rather, it is you who deceive me." Later, having received the seal of Changqing, the Master resided at the Guangyan bodhimanda. A monk asked, "What is the matter of facing each other directly?" The Master stepped down from the meditation bench and said, "May your venerable health be blessed with ten thousand fortunes." A monk asked, "Who is the person who is not a companion to the ten thousand dharmas?" The Master said, "The Blue History Tower in the city; the high peak tower beyond the clouds." A monk asked, "What is the great meaning of the Buddha Dharma?" The Master said, "In the secluded ravine, the spring is pure; on the high peak, the moon is white." A monk asked, "What is the house style of Guangyan?" The Master said, "A cove of white clouds, a three-room thatched hut." The monk said, "Ultimately, how is it?" The Master said, "There is neither a karmadāna nor a chief cook." A monk asked, "What is the house style of Guangyan?" The Master said, "Before the Lion Rock, the miraculous water murmurs; on Mount Jilong, the white gibbon cries."
