21.47

杭州龍華寺契盈廣辯周智大師。本福州黃蘗山受業。於長慶領旨。住後僧問。如何是龍華境。師曰。翠竹搖風寒松鎖月。僧曰。如何是境中人。師曰。切莫唐突。問如何是三世諸佛道場。師曰。莫別瞻禮。僧曰。恁麼則亘古亘今。師曰。是什麼年中。問如何是黃蘗山主。師曰。謝仁者相訪。問如何是黃蘗境。師曰。龍吟瀑布水雲起翠微峯。

Great Master Qiying Guangbian Zhouzhi of Longhua Temple in Hangzhou originally underwent his training at Mount Huangbo in Fuzhou. He received the purport under Changqing. After taking up residence, a monk asked, "What is the environment of Longhua?" The master said, "Emerald bamboo sways in the wind; cold pine locks in the moon." The monk said, "What is the person in the environment?" The master said, "By no means be impudent." [A monk] asked, "What is the bodhimaṇḍa of the Buddhas of the three periods?" The master said, "Do not look and pay homage elsewhere." The monk said, "In that case, it spans past and present." The master said, "What year is it?" [A monk] asked, "Who is the master of Mount Huangbo?" The master said, "I thank the benevolent one for paying a visit." [A monk] asked, "What is the environment of Huangbo?" The master said, "A dragon chants in the waterfall water; clouds arise from CuDraft Peak."
