襄州含珠山真和尚（第三世住）僧問。師唱誰家曲宗風嗣阿誰。師曰。含珠密意同道者知。曰恁麼即不假羽翼便登翠嶺也。師曰鈍。問古鏡未磨時如何。師曰。昧不得。曰磨後如何。師曰。黑如漆。

Upādhyāya Zhen of Mount Hanzhu in Xiangzhou (dwelling as the third generation). A monk asked, 'Whose song does the master sing? Whose house style do you inherit?' The master said, 'The secret intent of Hanzhu is known to those on the same path.' [The monk] said, 'In that case, without relying on feathers or wings one immediately climbs the emerald ridge.' The master said, 'Dullard.' [The monk] asked, 'How was it before the ancient mirror was polished?' The master said, 'It cannot be obscured.' [The monk] said, 'How is it after it is polished?' The master said, 'Black as lacquer.'
