24.53

南雄州地藏和尚上堂有僧問。既是地藏地藏還來否。師曰。打開佛殿門裝香換水。師與大容和尚在白雲開火路。大容曰。三道寶階何似箇火路。師曰。甚麼處不是。

Upādhyāya Dizang of Nanxiong Prefecture ascended the hall. A monk asked: "Since you are Dizang, will Dizang come again?" The Master said: "Open the door of the Buddha hall, offer incense, and change the water." The Master and Upādhyāya Darong were clearing a firebreak at Baiyun. Darong said: "How do the three flights of jeweled stairs compare to a firebreak?" The Master said: "Where is not one?"
