24.75

衢州羅漢義和尚。上堂眾集有僧才出禮拜。師曰。不是好底。僧曰。龍泉寶劍請師揮。師曰。什麼處去也。曰恁麼印龍谿南面盡鋒鋩。師曰。收取。問不落古今請師道。師曰。還怪得麼。曰猶落古今。師曰。莫錯。

Upādhyāya Yi of Luohan in Quzhou ascended the hall. The assembly gathered, and a monk just stepped forth and bowed. The Master said, "Not a good one." The monk said, "The precious sword of Longquan—please, Master, wield it!" The Master said, "Where have you gone?" The monk said, "Then the seal south of the Dragon Stream is completely sharp-edged." The Master said, "Gather it in." The monk asked, "Not falling into past or present—please, Master, speak!" The Master said, "Can you still blame it?" The monk said, "Still falling into past and present." The Master said, "Do not err."
