24.86

襄州普寧院法顯禪師。僧問。曩劫共住為什麼不識親疎。師曰誰。曰更待某甲道。師曰。將謂不領話。問萬水千山如何登涉。師曰。青霄無間路到者不迷機。

Chan Master Faxian of Puning Cloister in Xiangzhou. A monk asked, "Dwelling together for past kalpas, why does one not recognize intimacy or distance?" The Master said, "Who?" The monk said, "Waiting further for me to speak?" The Master said, "I would have thought you did not understand the words." The monk asked, "How to traverse ten thousand rivers and a thousand mountains?" The Master said, "In the blue sky there is no barrier on the road; those who arrive do not lose the dynamic."
