26.26

廬山大林寺僧遁禪師初住圓通。有僧舉。僧問玄沙和尚。向上宗乘此間如何言論。玄沙云。少人聽。今問師。不知玄沙意旨如何。師曰。待汝移却石耳峯我即向汝道（歸宗柔別云。且低聲）。

Chan Master Sengdun of Dalin Temple on Mount Lu first resided at Yuantong. A monk brought up [the following]: A monk asked Upādhyāya Xuansha, "How is the transcendental ancestral vehicle spoken of here?" Xuansha said, "Few people listen." "Now I ask the Master: I do not know what Xuansha's intention was." The Master said, "Wait until you move away Shier Peak, then I will tell you." (Guizong Rou gave an alternative response, saying: "Speak softly for a while.")
