官人問僧。名什麼。曰無揀。官人曰。忽然將一椀沙與上座又作麼生。曰謝官人供養（法眼別云。此猶是揀底）。

An official asked a monk, "What is your name?" The monk said, "Wujian (No-Picking)." The official said, "If someone suddenly gave a bowl of sand to the sthavira, what then?" The monk said, "I thank the official for the offering." (Fayan spoke alternatively: "This is still picking.")
