29.17

禺中巳。未了之人教不至。假饒通達祖師言。莫向心頭安了義。只守玄沒文字。認著依前還不是。暫時自肯不追尋。曠劫不遭魔境使。

At mid-morning, the hour of si: / For those who have not understood, teachings do not reach. / Even if you thoroughly comprehend the words of the Patriarchs, / Do not set up definitive meaning within the mind. / Merely guarding the mystery without letters, / If you recognize it, as before it is still not it. / If for a moment you yourself approve and do not pursue, / Throughout vast kalpas you will not be driven by māra's realms.
