29.24

夜半子。心住無生即生死。生死何曾屬有無。用時便用沒文字。祖師言外邊事。識取起時還不是。作意搜求實沒蹤。生死魔來任相試。

At midnight, the hour of zi: / The mind abiding in non-arising is itself birth and death. / When have birth and death ever belonged to being or non-being? / When using it, just use it without letters. / The Patriarchs' words are outside matters; / Recognize it when it arises, yet it is still not it. / Deliberately searching, there are truly no traces; / Let the māras of birth and death come to test as they will.
