3.12

亦不覩惡而生嫌　亦不觀善而勤措
亦不捨智而近愚　亦不拋迷而就悟
達大道兮過量　通佛心兮出度
不與凡聖同躔　超然名之曰祖

Neither looking upon evil to produce aversion,
Nor observing good to diligently apply oneself;
Neither abandoning wisdom to draw near to folly,
Nor casting aside delusion to approach awakening;
Penetrating the Great Way—surpassing measurement!
Comprehending the Buddha-mind—transcending limits!
Not walking the same path as ordinary or holy,
Transcendent—he is named a patriarch.
