六祖大師聞之曰。此偈未明心地。若依而行之。是加繫縛因。示一偈曰。
The Sixth Patriarch, the Great Master, heard this and said, "This verse does not clarify the mind-ground. If one relies on it and practices it, it adds bonds." He then showed a verse, saying:
