23.24

Upādhyāya Feng of Putong in Xingyuan Prefecture. A monk asked, “How does today’s gathering compare to Vulture Peak?”
The master said, “It shakes heaven and earth.”
[A monk] asked, “What is the realm of Putong?”
The master said, “In the courtyard there is bamboo elegant through the three winter months; inside the room there is no lamp, yet it is bright at midnight.”
