忻州鐵佛院智嵩禪師。有同參到。師見便問。還記得相識麼。參頭擬議。第二僧打參頭一坐具曰。何不快祇對和尚。師曰。一箭兩垛。師問僧。甚處來。曰臺山來。師曰。還見龍王麼。曰和尚試道看。師曰。我若道即瓦解氷消。僧擬議。師曰。不信道。問亡僧遷化向甚麼處去也。師曰。下坡不走快便難逢。

Chan Master Zhisong of the Iron Buddha Monastery in Xinzhou had a fellow practitioner arrive. Seeing him, the Master asked, "Do you still remember our acquaintance?"
The head practitioner hesitated. A second monk struck the head practitioner with a sitting mat and said, "Why don't you answer the Upādhyāya quickly?"
The Master said, "One arrow hitting two targets."

The Master asked a monk, "Where have you come from?"
[The monk] said, "From Mount Tai."
The Master said, "Did you see the Dragon King?"
[The monk] said, "Let the Upādhyāya try to speak."
The Master said, "If I speak, tiles will shatter and ice will melt."
The monk hesitated.
The Master said, "He does not believe the path."

[A monk] asked, "When a deceased monk passes away, where does he go?"
The Master said, "Going downhill without running, quickness is hard to come by."
