襄州鹿門慧昭山主。楊憶侍郎問曰。入山不畏虎當路却防人時如何。師曰。君子坦蕩蕩。僧問。如何是鹿門山。師曰。石頭大底大小底小。曰如何是山中人。師曰。橫眠竪臥。

Mountain Master Huizhao of Lumen in Xiangzhou: Vice Minister Yang Yi asked, "What about entering the mountain not fearing tigers, but on the main road on guard against people?"
The Master said, "The gentleman is serene and open-hearted."
A monk asked, "What is Mount Lumen?"
The Master said, "The big stones are big, the small ones are small."
[The monk] said, "What is the person in the mountain?"
The Master said, "Sleeping crosswise, lying lengthwise."
