福州天官慎徽禪師上堂。八萬四千波羅密門。門門長開。三千大千微塵諸佛。佛佛說法。不說有不說無。不說非有非無。不說亦有亦無。何也離四句絕百非。相逢舉目少人知。昨夜霜風漏消息。梅花依舊綴寒枝。

Chan Master Shenhui of Tianguan in Fuzhou ascended the hall: "The eighty-four thousand pāramitā gates—gate after gate is ever open. The Buddhas as numerous as fine dust motes in the great trichiliocosm—Buddha after Buddha expounds the Dharma: not speaking of existence, not speaking of non-existence; not speaking of neither existence nor non-existence; not speaking of both existence and non-existence. Why? Leaving behind the four propositions and cutting off the hundred negations, when meeting face-to-face and raising one's eyes, few people know. Last night the frosty wind leaked the news: plum blossoms as before adorn the cold branches."
