12.17

饒州安國自方禪師。上堂顧視大眾曰。還會麼。一切見成不用絲毫心力。但盡凡心別無聖解。所以道。觀身實相觀佛亦然。前際不來後際不去今則無住。無住之本流出萬端。萬象森羅一時驗取。

Chan Master Zifang of Anguo in Raozhou ascended the hall, looked around at the assembly, and said: "Do you understand yet? Everything is already accomplished, requiring not the slightest mental effort. Merely exhaust the ordinary mind; there is no other holy understanding. Therefore it is said: 'Observing the true mark of the body, observing the Buddha is also thus.' The previous limit does not come, the subsequent limit does not depart, and the present is without abiding. From the root of non-abiding flow forth myriad varieties. Verify and examine the myriad phenomena arrayed all at once."
