廬山同安慶通禪師。僧問。師唱誰家曲宗風嗣阿誰。師曰。燕子不離舊窠。問世尊未成佛時如何。師曰佛。僧云。成佛後如何。師曰佛。僧云。畢竟如何。師曰佛。

Chan Master Qingtong of Tong'an on Mount Lu. A monk asked, "Whose song does the Master sing? Whose lineage style do you succeed?" The Master said, "A swallow does not leave its old nest." The monk asked, "What was it like before the Bhagavat attained Buddhahood?" The Master said, "Buddha." The monk asked, "What was it like after he attained Buddhahood?" The Master said, "Buddha." The monk said, "In the end, what was it?" The Master said, "Buddha."
