齊州靈岩山重確正覺禪師上堂。祖師心印狀似鐵牛之機。針挑不出匙挑不上。過在阿誰。綠雖千種草香只一株蘭。上堂。不方不圓不上不下。驢鳴狗吠十方無價。拍禪床下座。

Chan Master Chongque Zhengjue of Mount Lingyanshan in Qizhou ascended the hall and said, 'The Patriarch's mind-seal is shaped like the iron ox's mechanism: a needle cannot pick it out; a spoon cannot lift it up. Whose fault is it? Though green grasses number a thousand kinds, fragrance belongs to only a single orchid.' Ascending the hall, he said, 'Neither square nor round, neither above nor below; the bray of a donkey, the bark of a dog—in the ten directions, beyond price.' He struck the meditation bench and descended from the seat.
