蘄州三角山慧澤禪師。僧問。師登寶座大眾側耹。師卓拄杖一下。僧曰。答即便答又卓箇甚麼。師曰。百雜碎。

Chan Master Huize of Mount Sanjiao in Qi Prefecture. A monk asked, "The Master ascends the jeweled seat, and the great assembly listens attentively." The master tapped his staff once. The monk said, "If answering, then just answer; what is the point of tapping?" The master said, "A hundred shattered fragments."
