瑞州百丈維古禪師。上堂大眾集定。拈拄杖示眾曰。多虛不如少實。卓一下便起。
Chan Master Weigu of Baizhang in Ruizhou ascended the hall. When the great assembly had settled, he held up his staff, showed it to the assembly, and said, "Much emptiness is not as good as a little reality." He struck once and then rose.
