蘆州羅漢善脩禪師上堂曰。一氣不言群芳競吐。煙羃羃兮水淥山青。日遲遲兮鸞吟燕語。桃花依舊笑春風。靈雲別後知何許。驀拈拄杖曰。見麼。良久曰。鼻孔眼睛一時穿却。卓拄杖一下。

Chan Master Luohan Shanxiu of Luzhou ascended the hall and said, "One breath without speaking, and the host of fragrant blossoms vie to burst forth. Smoke is misty, the water emerald, and the mountains green; the sun lingers slow, luan-birds sing, and swallows chatter. Peach blossoms smile as ever at the spring wind; after Lingyun parted, who knows where they went?" He suddenly took up his staff and said, "Do you see?" After a long pause he said, "Nostrils and eyes pierced through in a single instant!" He brought his staff down once.
