21.19

亳州白藻清儼禪師。信州人。僧問。楊廣失槖馳到處無人見。未審是甚麼人得見。師以拂子約曰。退後退後妨他別人所問。曰畢竟落在甚麼處。師曰。可殺不識好惡便打。

Chan Master Qingyan of Baizao in Bozhou was a native of Xinzhou. A monk asked: "Yang Guang lost his camel, and nowhere could anyone see it. I wonder, what kind of person got to see it?" The Master held him back with his whisk, saying: "Step back, step back! You are hindering the questions of others." The monk said: "Ultimately, where did it fall?" The Master said: "Terribly blind to good and bad!" and struck him.
