23.19

潭州上封祖秀禪師。常德府何氏子。上堂。枯木巖前夜放華。鐵牛依舊臥煙沙。儂家鞭影重拈出。擊拂子曰。一念回心便到家。遂喝一喝下座。

Chan Master Zuxiu of Shangfeng in Tanzhou was a son of the He family of Changde Prefecture. He ascended the hall [and said]: / "Before the dead-tree cliff, flowers bloom at night; / The iron ox still lies in the misty sands. / This fellow's shadow of the whip is brought forth again." / Striking the fly-whisk, he said: / "With a single thought turning the mind, one arrives right at home!" / He then gave a shout and stepped down from the seat.
