紹興府石佛益禪師上堂。一葉落天下秋。一塵起大地收。一法透萬法週且道透那一法。遂喝曰。切忌錯認驢鞍橋作阿爺下頷。便下座。

Chan Master Yi of Shifo in Shaoxing Prefecture ascended the hall: "A single leaf falls, and the world is autumn; a single dust particle rises, and the great earth is gathered in. One phenomenon penetrates, and ten thousand phenomena are complete. And tell me, which phenomenon is penetrated?" He then gave a shout and said, "Take special care not to mistake a donkey's saddle-tree for your father's lower jaw!" He then descended from the seat.
