溫州護國欽禪師上堂。有句無句。明來暗去。活捉生擒。捷書露布。如藤倚樹。物以類聚。海外人參。蜀中綿附。樹倒藤枯。切忌名模。句歸何處。蘇嚧蘇嚧。呵呵大笑。破鏡不照。大地茫茫。一任𨁝跳。

Chan Master Huguo Qin of Wenzhou ascended the hall and said, 'With phrases, without phrases; coming in light, going in darkness. Captured alive and seized directly; a victory banner publicly posted. Like a vine clinging to a tree; things gather by kind. People from beyond the seas participate; in Shu, silk clings. The tree falls and the vine withers—strictly avoid conceptual patterns! Where does the phrase return? Sulu sulu. Ha-ha, a great laugh! The broken mirror does not reflect. The great earth is vast and boundless—freely let it leap about!'
