舒州投子圓修禪師。僧問。達磨未來時如何。師曰。出口入耳。曰來後如何。師曰。叉手並足。

Chan Master Yuanxiu of Touzi in Shuzhou. A monk asked, "How was it before Bodhidharma came?" The Master said, "Out of the mouth and into the ear." The monk asked, "How was it after he came?" The Master said, "Hands folded and feet placed together."
