Chan Master Dun'an Zuzhu of Gongan in Jingnan Prefecture was a native of Nanping. He ascended the hall [and said]: "It is not mind, it is not Buddha, it is not a thing. Drain the wild fox's drool completely; kick over the mountain ghost's cave. In the level fields amidst shallow grass, reveal the scorched-tail tiger; into the vast and empty void, release the high-flying falcon. Aha! Bone and marrow are exposed! When casually presented before the assembly, what on earth is it clearly after all? Du! Du!"
He ascended the hall [and said]:
"Jade dew hangs on green grass; / A golden wind stirs the white duckweed. / The single cry of a cold wild goose / Wakes those who are not yet awake."
