汀州報恩法演禪師。果州人。上堂舉俱胝竪指因緣。師曰。佳人睡起懶梳頭。把得金針插便休。大抵還他肌骨好。不塗紅粉也風流。

Chan Master Fayan of Bao'en in Tingzhou was a native of Guozhou. He ascended the hall and brought up the nidāna of Juzhi raising a finger. The Master said:
"A fair lady wakes from sleep, too lazy to comb her hair; / Taking a golden hairpin, she simply sticks it in. / In general, it all comes back to her fine bone and skin; / Without applying rouge or powder, she is naturally captivating."
