彭州永福院延照禪師。僧問。如何是彭州境。師曰。人馬合雜。僧以手作拽弓勢。師拈棒。僧擬議。師便打。

Chan Master Yanzhao of Yongfu Monastery in Pengzhou. A monk asked, "What is the environment of Pengzhou?" The Master said, "Men and horses mixed together." The monk made the gesture of drawing a bow with his hand. The Master picked up his staff. The monk hesitated. The Master then struck him.
