舒州投子法宗禪師。時稱道者。僧問。如何是道者家風。師曰。袈裟裏草鞋。曰意旨如何。師曰。赤脚下桐城。
Chan Master Fazong of Touzi in Shuzhou was called 'the practitioner' at the time. A monk asked, 'What is the house style of the practitioner?' The master said, 'Straw sandals inside the kāṣāya.' He asked, 'What is the meaning?' The master said, 'Barefoot, going down to Tongcheng.'
