韶州寶壽行德禪師。冬日在南華受請。示眾曰。新冬新寶壽。言是舊時言。若會西來意。波斯上舶船。

Chan Master Xingde of Baoshou in Shaozhou, receiving an invitation at Nanhua in winter, instructed the assembly: "New winter, new Baoshou; the words are the old words. If you understand the meaning of the [Patriarch's] coming from the West, Persians board the merchant ship."
