8.27

無為軍鐵佛因禪師。僧問。如何是和尚家風。師曰。一尋寒木自為隣。三事秋雲更誰識曰和尚家風蒙指示。為人消息又如何。師曰。新月有圓夜人心無滿時。

Chan Master Yīn of Tiěfó in Wúwéi Commandery. A monk asked, "What is the upādhyāya's house style?"
The Master said, "Eight feet of cold wood makes its own neighbor; who else recognizes the three robes of autumn clouds?"
[The monk] said, "I have received instruction on the upādhyāya's house style. What about the news of acting for people's sake?"
The Master said, "The new moon has a night of fullness; the human mind has no time of satisfaction."
