An appraisal says: Some say that if the robe was not burned, would it not be excessively miraculous? I say: When a precious sword comes from a master smelter, it can still undergo unfathomable transformations, its light piercing the stars. When magicians draw on worldly arts, they can also enter water without getting wet, and enter fire without being burned. How much more so the upper robe of a sage and the superior vessel of the Great Dharma! Could this be burned? Could it fail to shine? As for its speaking of earthquakes and reaching to auspicious omens of clouds, the sun, grasses, and trees—when sought deeply through the principle of karma, it is utmost indeed! It should properly differ from the mundane theories of the Five Elements.
