蓋三寶感應要略錄者。靈像感應以為佛寶。尊經感應以為法寶。菩薩感應以為僧寶。良是濁世末代目足。斷惡修善規模也。夫信為道源功德之聚。行為要路解脫之基。道達三千勸勵後信。教被百億開示像跡。今略表其肝要。粗敘奇瑞。此緣若墮將來無據。蕳以三聚分為三卷。令其易見矣。佛寶聚上。

As for this Abridged Record of Miraculous Responses of the Three Jewels: the sympathetic responses of numinous images constitute the Buddha Jewel; the sympathetic responses of revered sūtras constitute the Dharma Jewel; the sympathetic responses of bodhisattvas constitute the Saṅgha Jewel. Truly, they are eyes and feet for the final age of this defiled world, and a standard for cutting off evil and cultivating goodness. Indeed, faith is the source of the Way and the gathering of merits; practice is the vital path and the foundation of liberation. The Way extends to the three-thousandfold [world] to encourage future believers; the teachings blanket the ten billion [realms] to reveal the traces of images. Now, I briefly present the essentials and sketch the extraordinary omens. If these conditions are neglected, the future will have no evidence [of them].
