二謂。後漢顯宗孝明皇帝。永平三年夜夢金人。身長丈餘項佩日月光。飛行殿前。帝問群臣。通人傅毅曰。臣聞西域有神其名曰佛。

The second: Emperor Xiaoming (Xianzong) of the Later Han, in the third year of Yongping, dreamt at night of a golden man more than a zhang in height, wearing the radiance of the sun and moon at his neck, flying in front of the palace hall. The emperor asked his ministers, and the erudite Fu Yi said: 'Your servant has heard that in the Western Regions there is a spirit whose name is the Buddha.
