Furthermore, on Mount Sanxue east of Yizhou, miraculous lamps regularly shine in the sky, increasing twofold on fast days. Also, at the Hongya Caves south of Liangzhou, there is a stele and a monastery built by Juqu Mengxun that still survive, where a saintly white-robed monk is often seen circumambulating on his own: when people approach he stops, and when people depart he resumes walking. Thus, beside him, footprints are packed thickly together, testifying to these followers; they cannot be recounted in full. I have heard that in the *Treatise on Entering the Mahāyāna*, the venerables Piṇḍola, Rāhula, and others, sixteen great arhats, reside in the world to preserve the Dharma; and there are nine hundred million aśaikṣas in this continent who have not yet entered nirvāṇa. Gauging from this, nowadays those dwelling in various mountains frequently hear the sound of stone chimes or encounter monasteries: are these not the abodes of these various holy beings?
