又按司馬天師云。南嶽祠宇庵巖僅三百餘所。超越於漢武之朝。盛隆在唐皇之代。他山無可擬者。豈不以萬古靈蹤千真遺化。併協壬辰之運。悉同黃帝之。□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□作詩云。野鵲灘西一棹孤。月光遙接洞庭湖。堪憎回雁峯前過。望斷家山一字無。近自五季之後。山頗岑寂。今直　昌朝大道興隆。就寒棲而樂淡泊者往往居之。其諸名山亦復如是。豈非道化所洽將返純古乎。每值三春。四方遊禮者甚眾。近歲道會愈盛。祥應頻彰。至於冠蓋星軺之士。皆降屈於麻衣紙襖之流參問。元微搜訪高上於一言半句。似有感通。如在汾水之陽而喪天下。豈非真仙默示道化所及而至於此哉。

Furthermore, according to Celestial Master Sima, the shrines, temples, hermitages, and crags of Nanyue amount to just over three hundred sites, surpassing the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han and flourishing in the era of the Tang emperors; other mountains cannot compare. Is it not because the spiritual traces of myriad ages and the bequeathed transformations of a thousand perfected ones jointly accord with the fortune of the renchen year, entirely identical to that of the Yellow Emperor... [...] composed a poem, which says: 'West of Yequ Shoal a solitary oar drifts, / Moonlight in the distance joins the Dongting Lake. / Truly hateful to pass before Huiyan Peak, / Gazing endlessly toward home mountains, not a single letter comes.' Recently, since the Five Dynasties, the mountain had become somewhat quiet and secluded. Now, encountering our prosperous reign, the Great Dao flourishes, and those who seek austere lodgings and delight in simplicity frequently reside here. Other celebrated mountains are also like this. Is it not that the reach of the Dao's transformation is about to return us to pure antiquity? Every spring, those from all four directions who travel to pay homage are very numerous. In recent years Daoist assemblies have become ever more flourishing, and auspicious responses are frequently manifested. As for officials with carriages and high caps or imperial envoys, all humble themselves before those in hemp robes and paper jackets to inquire into mysterious subtleties and seek supreme truths in half a phrase or a single word, as if having a spiritual resonance—like being on the northern bank of the Fen River and forgetting the world under heaven. Is it not that the silent instruction and transformative reach of the true immortals have brought about this state?
