6.26

正曰。今以廢宗祀為犯。順存嗜欲以申禮。則是孝敬之典在我為得。俗無必賤矣。毀貌絕惡自彼為鄙。道無必貴矣。愛俗拘舊崇華尚禮。貴賤迭置義成獨說。徒欲蠧溺於凡觀。豈期卒埋於聖言耶。

The correction says: Now you consider abandoning ancestral sacrifices to be a violation of natural order, and preserving cravings and desires to be the indulgence of ritual. If so, then the canons of filial piety and respect are preserved on our side, and worldly custom is not necessarily contemptible; marring one's appearance and severing evil is considered base by that side, and the Dao is not necessarily precious. Cherishing custom, being bound to the old, exalting China, and prizing ritual, you arbitrarily invert what is noble and base, making claims that are mere individual assertions. You merely wish to sink into common viewpoints; how could you expect that in the end you would bury the words of the sages?
