令沙門還俗省侍父母。成天下之孝。各各自活不惱他人。使率土獲利。捨戎從夏六合同一。即是揚名萬代以顯太祖。即孝之終也。何得言非。

Ordering the śramaṇas to return to secular life to attend to and care for their parents accomplishes filial piety throughout the realm. Each supports themselves without troubling others, causing the entire land to obtain benefit. Abandoning the barbarian and following the Chinese, unifying the six directions—this is precisely spreading fame for myriad generations to make Taizu illustrious, which is the culmination of filial piety. How can you say it is wrong?"
